    Case Report
The Arizona Humane Society on Saturday offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest or indictment of whoever abused and dumped a puppy in a trash can Friday night.

A janitor found the female puppy Saturday morning at the Shadow Rose Apartments in the 6200 block of North 67th Avenue in Glendale. The 4-month-old dog had deep, bloody wounds, , said Kim Noetzel, a spokeswoman for the Humane Society. The puppy was hogtied with tape, and her mouth was taped closed. Noetzel said the injuries could be either stab or bite wounds, and it's possible the puppy was used as bait for training animals for dog fights.

The dog is being treated for its wounds at the Humane Society's animal hospital.

"It's certainly among the most egregious and intentional" cases of animal abuse the Humane Society has dealt with, Noetzel said.
